Nights of Fright is a fundraiser. Admission is $5, cash, and all of it goes to Books 2 Boards, Eaglecrest's snowsports program for Juneau middle school students.
Students selected for the program get ski or snowboard lessons, bus rides up the mountain, equipment and winter clothing, all at no cost to them. Teachers at each Juneau middle school choose students using school attendance, academic potential and family need, among other things. In return, members keep up at school, show up to after-school club sessions, and act as ambassadors on and off the hill.
Lessons
Ski and snowboard instruction on the mountain all winter.
A ride
Bus transportation from town up to Eaglecrest.
Gear
Equipment and warm clothing, so cost is never the reason a kid stays home.
